My canvas was a cardboard piece from packaging, covered in mod podge. I used a vitnage script stamp to decorate the cardboard, then mounted a piece of the inside of a pizza box covered in white mod podge onto the cardboard. Next, Vintage Belle was created using upcycled lace for the ruffled dress that is affixed to an oval (traced from a facial issue opening), lined with faux pearl straight pins. The dress was mounted on a 1960’s sewing book page that was torn and edges inked with vintage photo ink. Embroidery thread was wound around a paper thread spool and tiny scissor embellishment was tucked in the thread. New paper were purchased and mounted, coupled with vintage buttons gathered from secondhand stores to frame the art. Accepted as part of the Delta Kappa Gamma Mixed Media Art Category in Spring 2022.
